Dickenson County's own "Foddershock" records original "Acoustic/Appalachian/Dysfunctional/Folk Rock spawned from the dusty black coalfields of Southwest Virginia. Songs about livin`, dyin`, drinkin` and killin`. Sadly weird tales chock full of the characters your momma told you not to hang out with." "Bought the Farm" ends with an original songclip of "Lonzo," a legendary local musician, recorded in 1969 at Foddershock's grandfather's home. "Lonzo," the artist explains, "inspired me at the age of four to take up music. I used to sit as close as possible while he played and sang. He traveled these mountain communities and sang for his supper." Its was only "fitting" to tag a piece of Lonzo's pickin' and sangin' to the end of "Bought the Farm." |
