Rafting the Russell
Fork River 2003
Four weekend water releases
from the John Flannagan Reservoir by the United States Army Corps
of Engineers swells the waters of the Russell Fork river each
October attracting thousands of whitewater enthusiasts from all
over the world. Because of the extreme difficulty and technical
nature of the Russell Fork, professional outfitters screen prospective
rafters very carefully. Most outfitters require Class IV-V rafting
experience to ride the river.
